Bedtime at my house isn’t up for discussion. My kids are at their best when they’re well-rested. (I need to take a page out of their book.)
But at the offer table? Completely different story.
When an offer comes in, the seller has three options: accept, reject, or counter. And my guidance is almost always the same – let’s counter. Not because it guarantees agreement, but because it keeps the conversation alive. It turns a hard stop into a back-and-forth where both sides are still working toward the same goal.
In today’s market, silence usually costs more than conversation. Buyers are testing the water with their offers and sellers are deciding how far they’re willing to go.
A counter isn’t necessarily about meeting in the middle. It’s about figuring out if there’s a middle worth meeting in.
And most of the time, that’s where the deal lives.
How an offer is handled can change everything about the outcome. If you’re planning a move and want to talk through a strategy that suits your needs, I’m here.
