Here’s why my buyer got cold feet this week

It wasn’t the price. The neighbourhood is sought-after. The home had the features they were looking for. But they were so distracted by this one detail that the showing didn’t last nearly as long as I expected.

The moment we stepped inside, you could feel a draft. The furnace was running, but the house still held a chill and that set the tone before we even made it past the front entry.

Now, don’t get me wrong… it’s totally fine to crack the windows on those +5° days like today when the sun is finally shining and you just want a little fresh air. But maybe not right before a showing. You want buyers to step into warmth, not wonder if the furnace is working.

Little details like steady temperature, bright lighting and clear walkways go a long way toward creating a sense of care and comfort. And that sense can make all the difference when buyers are deciding how they feel about your home. Remember — buyers don’t just see homes, they feel them.

Whether you’re selling soon or just hunkering down for winter, this is the season when “well maintained” is very noticeable.

Wondering if your home would make a good first impression on buyers? I’d love to come have a look. send me a message and let’s set up a time.

Stay warm,
